So it’s summer and that means that there is no school which means we have all day to do whatever the fuck we want. For some reason I have decided to spend my summer swimming an average of 5 hours a day. That’s a lot of time to spend with your teammates and over this time we have gotten to know each other fairly well. Much like in any sport, there are things that swimmers do that seem normal to us but to someone who is not a swimmer would be considered weird.
Take the poop cycle for example. Everyone has one. It’s a natural part of being a human being no big deal. But every summer something strange happens. We get to know each others poop cycles and it’s a curse and a blessing. A blessing in the sense that you can predict when said poop is about to take place and plan it ever so perfectly as to skip a difficult interval… and a curse in the sense that you know when your lane mate has to poop and they know when you have to poop and it’s this big awkward poop knowledge. It’s nice.
I hope you enjoyed this segment of Life of a Swimmer. I might make it a thing. or not. I dont know.
